HOW TO BOOST PC PERFORMANCE

This is Bacardi, you all should know me by now. I have built many computers including NightFurys and just like you I've struggled with a potato PC so I have learned a few things to get me by and I hope to do the same for you

my main computer

^^and yes those are 200mm fans, 4 of them. Below is my back up computer

There"s nothing here that would damage your system and I don't believe in overclocking so don't worry. I'm here to help and I wouldn't ask you to do anything I wouldn't. I know what I'm doing.

First off lets start with going to the search bar on windows 10 and type in the box msconfig, just like you see it here. This is the app you need to run aka (system configuration)

This is the box that will pop up.

Now click on the tab that says services.

Now click on the (check) box that says hide all Microsoft services.

Go one by one disable any apps that you dont know anything about or isn't needed when your computer is first started. If you have any problems with this process it can be reversed. Just by following these steps click on the apps, hit enable. Also because we have hide all Microsoft services checked there's no risk of crashing the computer from this procedure. If you ever question what some of these services are, Just type it up in google if your unsure of a program. This will greatly improve your PC.

Using the task manager you can click on startup, scroll thru programs that bog down or slow your start up. Ask yourself do you really need some of these running when you first start up your computer. These are not serious or critical to the system these are your 3 party clients like anti-virus and steam. This is a must for folks with hard drives and not solid state drives. This is what can make a 2 minute boot time into a 10 minute boot time.

Next for this improvement we need task manager up again, click on the (Details) tab and scroll to the game (world of tanks) and right click.. Go to set priority and click on (above normal) and in some cases (high) will net you small returns in performance. This sets the computers processing power to keep (WOT) program a higher priority then all the rest. But priority changes made here are not permanent. Either shutting the program down or restarting the computer will fix any problems and priorities. There is a possible risk of a system crash, but its not a big deal, crashes are a computers way of being fussy and once you restart the computer the priorities are reset. Also if it does crash then that would mean the computer is really a potato after all. Use this if your computer is really bad or old. This would offset some of the resources the computer is tying up on useless programs and keeps WOT the main focus.
